In The Beginning...

Hello and welcome to my new blog. I've decided to blog about only 1 thing a week and that 1 thing being totally random. Shooting for a new blog on Sundays. But since it is 4th of July weekend coming up, I doubt that I will be at my computer to blog so I'm just gonna bring it a little early.

To give this new blog a little background, it is essential that I give you a little background of myself. I grew up pretty much on the road with my Dad and Mom traveling the United States on the PRCA Rodeo Circuit. My dad was a team roper so it took us to a lot of places and I saw a lot of things before I started kindergarten. So childhood sit downs for dinner at the family dining table were scarce. Not that I cared, eating Taco Bell, Mc Donalds and Pizza Hut were totally fine with me. BUT it did hinder my inner chef (which I'm actually still trying to bring to the surface). As I got older, I was involved in basketball and softball so the fast food trend continued. I was always crafty, making things, mostly jewelry and knick knacks. I always liked gardening because I saw all the fruits of my Granny's garden and all the plants & flowers she had but somehow that never trickled down in my resume of talents, either. I can remember as a little girl going into her garden and pulling up an onion out of her garden, taking it inside to wash it off, and eating it raw. Yum! I have always been a kind of messy person. (I'm going to blame this on my self diagnosed A.D.D.) I guess just because I couldn't focus on one thing long enough to see it through to its completion so I would just move on to the next thing, leaving a trail of the previous interest in my dust. Or maybe it was because working one project sparked another idea, then another, then another... I've always had these ideas in my head of ALL the millions of things that I want to do but just couldn't sit still long enough to really get in to it.

So here I am, 26, married to a wonderful man who is an awesome cook, Clint, and our 9 month old son, Blaze. I've decided it's time to force the domesticated person I have never known myself to be out and catch up on the things that I have always wanted to be and do but never came naturally. Lately, there has been a change in me. I'm not really sure what sparked this change, maybe having a child and with that maybe comes a sense of ownership and responsibility to do and give all of myself that I can. I want to make this world a better place for my wonderful angel boy that I possibly can.

I have followed "The Pioneer Woman", Ree Drummond, for some time now and when I was looking on her website the other day, I got inspired. Everything that she talked about and posted about are pretty much the same things that I want to do. The only difference, she's a pro. Me, not so much. I want this blog to be about everything I'm interested in. I want it to be a discussion board for all of my friends and family to share ideas, suggestions and whatever is on your mind. Most importantly, I want it to be an adventure for all of us. A journey right along with me for some, a little wisdom to share for others and probably a good laugh for most that has been here and done it all.

Some of the things that I want to talk about on this blog: gardening, recycling, cooking, babies, marriage, photography, crafts, couponing, reading, movies, my love of the 4 legged people, art, traveling, movies, my aspiration to be a fitness model (right...), my family, party planning, my life.... the list could go on forever. I hope you follow this blog and get something from it and more hopefully give to it because like I've said before, I'm no pro and definitely learning as I go and I'm guessing more than a few others are too. I just want this to be a fun outlet for my fellow moms, wives, working girls, journey seekers, and domestic goddesses.

Until next time!
